this model is a pointless political game designed to cater to American interests. It takes the selflessly open-sourced models from Chinese developers and injects anti-China values before repackaging them as "open-source," which severely violates the open-source community spirit.

You need to learn what open source means.

Please read up on the MIT license, but I can tell you this much up front: Taking something that was published under the MIT license and then publishing work derived from it under the MIT license is fine.

Also, it is not anti-China, but anti-CCP at most. Which is a perfectly valid stance.

@ufwd1984 DeepSeek went with the MIT license out of genuine goodwill—to empower academic research. But here you are, bending over backwards to justify how crapping all over it isn’t technically illegal. Yeah, sure, it’s not illegal—just utterly morally bankrupt. Typical Anglo-Saxon mentality, isn’t it?

DeepSeek went with the MIT license out of genuine goodwill

Very unlikely, but doesn't change a thing. if you choose a permissive license you can't cry later that people will use the code according to that license.

before repackaging them as "open-source"

You seem to have issues understanding the term open source.

But here you are, bending over backwards

You don't seem to understand the meaning of that phrase, either.

the pro china spam bots have taken over this community section, I hope HF starts banning them
